Before you start taking a new medication or supplement you should learn about the side effects that may occur when you take this product. Every single medication or supplement out there has potential side effects. Knowing what they are helps you to make sure that you don't have a negative reaction to anything that you take. Some people prefer to remain ignorant about side effects because they think that knowing about them will make them decide not to take a product that they really want to take. However, that's not usually the case. More information usually merely leads to more informed medical decisions.
For example, let's say that you want to take human growth hormone because of its anti-aging properties. You shouldn't just take it without considering the side effects. There are some serious side effects of HGH. For example, HGH has been known to affect insulin levels which can be harmful for people with diabetes. Knowing that this is a side effect doesn't necessarily mean that you choose not to take HGH. It simply means that you are aware of the importance of monitoring your insulin levels in case this potential side effect occurs in your case. The information that you learned just protects you. That's why learning about side effects should always be a part of the process of starting a new medication.
